Pasadena's Raymond "Renaissance"

Well, that's what they're calling it. The venerable Raymond Theatre in Pasadena is now a mixed use project involving condos, offices and, perhaps one day, a restaurant. The facade and some of the interior decorative surfaces got restored as part of the project.

See the Raymond Theatre page I finally got around to doing for lots of links to interesting photos from a variety of sources.

There's no shortage of information on the Raymond as it was the subject of a fierce (but futile) 20+ year preservation battle. It's still an interesting building, but no longer usable as a theatre.

The photo above is a 2010 view of the restored entrance that I took. Click on it for a larger view.
