Early Cinemascope at the Chinese

In case you missed it on Vintage Los Angeles the other day, perhaps you'd like to take a look at Richard Wojcik's colorful view of the Chinese in 1957.

I've added it to the page on the Chinese Theatre. If you go down the right column, you'll find 6 other views of the glorious Cinemascope signage that was first installed for "The Robe" in 1953. It's interesting to see how it morphed over the few years of its existence.

Shortly after Richard's photo, it was all gone. Sometime in the Fall of 1957 it was removed and dragon-topped marquees were added on the two side towers instead.

For a full size view of the photo see the link on the Chinese Theatre page or head to Vintage Los Angeles.
