Exploring the UA and State in Pasadena

Well, this is the place if you want school supplies. We're in the auditorium of the United Artists Theatre in Pasadena with a 2010 photo. That's the booth to the right. Sorry, no movies today.

Check out the new page on the United Artists for more photos and other data. The owners did a nice job of removing the sheet metal facade that United Artists added in 1960. It's worth a drive by to look at the exterior's original art deco glory. Or perhaps you need some pencils?

My recent Pasadena explorations also resulted in a page being added for the State Theatre. This one has a longer history. It opened as the Florence in 1918. Check out the new page for links to 3 nice views from the California State Library collection - including an interior shot.

Also of Pasadena interest: Check out a few new items on the Academy Theatre page.
