Vintage Postcards: The Philharmonic Auditorium

This postcard is a view I added to the Philharmonic Auditorium page last week. It's postmarked 1908. There has been a similar card on the page for some time but here we get a more vivid view.

It's in the collection of Cezar Del Valle, who also has a number of other rare Los Angeles postcards.

Also on the page: Cezar's 1915 program of "The Clansman" -- a little film that was later re-titled "Birth of a Nation." The Auditorium was then run by pioneer showman Billy Clune.

Another new item on the page is a crisp 1965 view looking across Pershing Square from the Neat Stuff Blog. Plus there are some sparkling cards from Elizabeth Fuller as well as photos from other archives. Check it out and tell me why this one was torn down.
