Prowling Along Pico

Today I finally got a page up on the Delmar Theatre on Pico.

If you've driven Pico at night, you know it's a treat to come across the restored neon signage of this theatre that lights up an otherwise fairly dismal stretch of the boulevard. The theatre is now a post production studio, Puget Sound.

The Delmar Theatre page has more pictures and information for you including photos by Michelle Gerdes and Mark Peacock. The photo here is one I took in 2010.

If you're interested in continuing your Pico prowl to check in on the other interesting buildings on the boulevard, there was the Picwood Theatre. Sadly gone. But check out the page on it for some views of the S. Charles Lee 1948 interior. New on the page are a couple of items from Vintage Los Angeles and a colorful exterior view I spotted on Cinema Tour.

If you're into faux-Roman, check out the Forum Theatre page. There's a very nice postcard view I just added to the page from the site Penny Postcards From California.

And if you are more interested in art deco, check out the page on the Fox Stadium, a Boller Bros. confection that's now a synagogue. What a delightful stylistic array!
