Early Views of the Music Box

I love this shot from Vintage Los Angeles that I recently added to the Music Box Theatre page.

These early views of the theatre have that delightful roof sign with the lines "Revue of Revues" & "Pick of the World in Girls." And note those readerboards on the 2nd floor above the open lounge area openings. The far right one here says "Fanny Brice." Yes, most of that facade is still there behind the current sheet metal cladding.

The image was posted on Vintage Los Angeles by Maurice Ideses. Click on it to go to a full size version.

Also new on the Music Box page is a 1931 view, this time from the site "Remapping Hollywould," which shows the theatre playing an extravaganza called "Women Go On Forever." Somehow I don't think it was an agitprop feminist drama.

Come visit the Music Box Theatre page for the full tour.
