The Pan Pacific Theatre and Pan Pacific Auditorium

I'd been putting this off for quite a while but finally had to do it. Too many nice images kept popping up recently.

First it was seeing a batch of Maynard Parker photos of the 850 seat Pan Pacific Theatre on Beverly Blvd. from the Huntington Library. If Nile Hight hadn't posted these on Vintage Los Angeles, I might have never come across them. Here you see a view of the auditorium from 1940. Click on it for a larger view on UCLA's Calisphere.

The other item that got me into action on this was a set of three wonderful color shots of the Pan Pacific Theatre's more famous nearby cousin, the Pan Pacific Auditorium. These showed up on the always interesting discussion thread Noirish Los Angeles and Gs Jansen did some great work on them.

Check out what I've seen so far on the new page on the Pan Pacific Theatre & Pan Pacific Auditorium.
