Grauman's Chinese

The Chinese, at 6925 Hollywood Blvd., is the most famous (and most photographed) theatre in the world. The 1927 photo here from Mott Studios is in the collection of the California State Library. The 1927 Meyer and Holler design was the firm's second commission with owner C. E. Toberman and operator Sid Grauman.  In 1922 the team had produced the Egyptian. See our ten web pages on Grauman's Chinese for more information and many (too many?) photos.

  1. What's not to love about this theater. Can't wait for its re-opening come September.
