Morosco Theatre

7th St. - "somewhere between Figueroa and Grand"  Los Angeles, CA


After a long career running L.A. legit houses Oliver Morosco decided to start producing films. He felt he needed a theatre in which to showcase them so planned a house on 7th St. that would have a film + vaudeville policy. This, along with a projected Hollywood theatre he was dreaming of, were never built. Morosco's legit ventures in L.A. included the Burbank, the Lyceum (very briefly), the Majestic and the Morosco, now called the Globe. This article appeared in the L.A. Times on December 15, 1920:
