Graham Theatre

1703 E. Firestone Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90001  | map |

Opened: Around 1925. This neighborhood house in the Florence-Graham area was on the north side of the street at Graham Ave., just east of the tracks for Pacific Electric. It was six blocks east of the Kinema Theatre at Compton and Firestone.

The street used to be called Manchester Ave. Now everything east of Central Ave. is Firestone Blvd. The Graham Theatre was in the 1925 Watts city as at 1705 E. Manchester Ave. in Graham.

In the 1927/28 L.A. city directory it had a 1703 E. Manchester address. In the 1929 L.A. directory it's become 1703 E. Firestone. It's listed similarly in the 1932 Watts directory.

Closing: It closed in 1934 according to information from Tom DeLay.

Status: It's been demolished. Joe Vogel notes that the building on the site dates from 1946.
