A 1914 ad located by Jeff Bridges listing Mrs. A. Enlow as the proprietor. The Ivy listing was included in a directory ad featuring 30 other theatres. The full ad is on Flickr.

The Ivy was included in this group of eastside theatres advertising in the L.A. Evening Express in 1918. Thanks to Ken McIntyre for locating the ad. The Keystone later became the Aliso Theatre.

Closing: The closing date is unknown. 1921 appears to be its last city directory listing. In the 1925 city directory 3937 Whitter is listed as the Salvation Army.

Status: Perhaps the building survives and it's just been remodeled.

It sure looks like a theatre building with a stagehouse, doesn't it? On the left we're looking west on Whittier. For that entrance half way down the building they're using a 3945 address. That's Rowan Ave. on the right. Photo: Google Maps - 2019

More Information: See the Cinema Treasures page on the Ivy Theatre.
