The Movie

345 E. Ocean Blvd.  Long Beach, CA 90802 | map |

Opening: Sometime in the late 1960s, a remodel from what had previously been retail space. It was on the north side of the street between Long Beach Blvd. and Elm Ave. Thanks to American Classic Images for this 1983 photo looking west toward the West Coast and the Imperial theatres.

This porno venue was operated by Walnut Properties, the company that owned the Pussycat circuit. Note their logo on the front of the marquee.

Closing: Sometime in the mid-1980s.

Status: It was demolished in 1987 along with the neighboring theatres. The site is now part of the Westin Hotel development.
