This lovely promenade now leads to no seating. The mezzanine got hacked off during the 1955 TODD-AO renovations. It was 3 rows deep and sat 200. The doorways leading to the former seating area had been closed off since 1955. Ace reopened them around 2015 so from this area you can now look down onto the main floor seating in the auditorium as well as have views down into the main lobby on the other side.

The mezzanine level lobby from house left as it appeared with the church still in the building. Thanks to Don Solosan of the Los Angeles Historic Theatre Foundation for his 2010 image. It's from his video on YouTube, "Insiders Peek #9, " that was made to promote a LAHTF tour of the building that was later cancelled by the church group that then owned the building.

She was the agent who brokered the sale of the building from the church group to Greenfield Partners and their operating partner Ace Hotels. Her website: PatLile.com

See many more of his photos of the building on the United Artists page of OrnateTheatres.com, the website he and Mark Mulhall are doing for their theatre documentation project.
